Brake pedal switch????

I'm getting ready to replace the old factory brake switch for a new 2 position brake switch "required" when running the 700R4. I havent found any other threads showing this install and it looks like a real pain in the a$$ to get to.

Does anyone have any tips/advice for getting the old one out?! pics/links to another thread would be cool too!

This is the brake switch I installed for my 4L60E. It was easy to install. Remove the old one, hook up your wires as per the diagram and install. Tight quarters to work in. I had to remove the bolt for brake pedal to get my fingers in there.

Just drop the e-brake handle(4 bolts) then the lower column bracket(4 bolts) The switch is mounted to the bracket. I did this is mine and it made adjusting the switch to the correct depth alot easier. You'll need to use the two nuts from your original switch, too.

Install your existing brake lights to the two pins near the front. When you hit your brakes it applies power for your brake lights. The two far back pins are just the opposite, power is always there when pedal is not depressed. When you hit your brakes it kills the power to the lead marked TCC which unlocks the converter.

Re: Brake pedal switch????

I used a late 80's brake light switch. I also used needle nose pliers to put the wires on the switch after it was installed. No problems..
