56 chevy with LT1 a/c question
 

Im using the condenser, compressor and dryer from the 95 camaro, but not sure what to use in the cab. The camaro unit is way too big to fit under the dash. So what are you using?? Some of you have this motor but havent seen what is done about the a/c. Thanks

HI! well, there isn't a whole lot of room under the dash to start with, so I would guess you have limited options. My complete ac system is from Classic air, and vintage ac is also out there. Perhaps just purchasing the evaporator case could be an option, but you would need to obviously connect your ac lines to your Camaro lines. I would think it can be done. I'm sure some die hards will make "other" evaporator systems work. I prefer the path of least resistance! lol Which still was a pain! I'm sure other will chime in soon!; )

Most of the a/c vendors sell a kit that consists of everything that goes inside the cab. That's how I bought mine as I wanted the heater and defroster before I needed the cooling. It seems to me that Vintage Air units tuck up under the dash better than most of the others so that's the way I went.

Aftermarket underdash cab system to bulkhead fittings. Have lines built at any a/c shop from the firewall side of the bulkhead to the compressor and dryer. Use what you have for under the hood and purchase what fits with vents and switches from a reputable source. Mount the vents up behind the dash pointing down at the floor on an angle bracket if you don't like the look of them visible.
