Metal grilles?

Were the grilles for the 86's and similar styles ever made from metal? Mine is plastic and is in great shape, but I was under the assumption these were once metal from the factory originally.

Nope.

Metal grilles in '72 and earlier but not '73 and later.

not metal since 70 i believe, i think they had some plastic in 69
