Cam install? Help pease!!
Ok....I am putting in my new cam this weekend i hope. Wat all do i need to do lol. Will it need to be lift out, the engine that is. Wat kinda gaskets will need to be replaced? I wanna do this to learn how to since iam going to college for it lol. SO i wanan start doing installs myself. I just need to be directed in the right direction haha. So if anyone can help me on the install that woul;d be just great :) Thx alot guys!!

OMG......i think i might be in a lil over my head on this one.....I got my cam for 112 dollars. How much more money will i need to spend to put it in do u think?

Did you get lifters with it for that price? You will need them.
You also need a set of intake gaskets, fuel pump gasket,valve cover gaskets, a timing chain cover gasket and seal kit (Might come with water pump gaskets, I don't remember...), and an oil pan gasket. Also some RTV and some gasket cement. Did I miss anything? Maybe another $50 or $75 if you have the lifters, and reuse the pushrods. Somebody help me out if I forgot anything, or if I guesstimated the price of the parts incorrectly. Slonaker |
yeah...the cam kit i got didn' come with any lifter lol so....i will need more funds before i start this her project haha!!
