Slant nosed 70 GMC, what do I need?

I have a 70 Jimmy and I want to slant nose it (67-68 Cowl Induction Hood). I know the fenders are the same as the 68, is the grill also, anything else different other than the hood itself?

I have a 70 Chevy and would like to do the same. Is it the same for Chevy? Is just a hood swap possible?

To swap a gmc all you should need is the hood and take the top chrome trim off the grille. Then you'll have to swap to 67-8 fender and hood trim or weld up the holes. As for the chevy you'll have to swap the whole front end except for the inner fenders.

Re: Slant nosed 70 GMC, what do I need?

I guess the question is that if I simply order a cowl induction hood and drop it on, will it latch and close? I know the filler piece over the grill needs to go, but I never was clear about the latch or the panel between the radiator and the grill. It certainly looks like the panel is 68ish and that the chrome grill-hood filler trim is simply bolted on top of it. Also I assume the hoods do not come with the hood side of the latch but I don't know for sure. I just want to make sure I order what needs to get ordered and if I need a non-reproduced part that I start trying to find it.

Also I assume the 69-70 grills are the same, are they also the same as a 68? I know 67s are unique (embossed lettering) and 71-72s have the black line grills, but the 68-70 grills look to be the same, are they?

I'm not for sure about the latch but all 67-72 gmc grilles will interchange

All GMC grilles will interchange. Attached with rivets at the top of GMC grilles is a top bar/filler bar. The 67/68s had a body colored sheet metal filler bar...like the top of a 67/68 Chevy grille. 69-72s had a chrome grille surround top bar...like the 69-72 Chevy grille surround. And the hood drops down behind that. The surround makes up the difference in hood lengths

with a GMC you will need to unrivet the chrome thats riveted to the top of the grille. you will need to get a 67-68 top GMC grille bar and rivtet or bolt that on to your grille and then chaange the really fat 69=72 fender "eyebrow" trim to the small 68 trim or just weld the holes up and go with no trim. with chevy its alot harder you will need to cut the 69-72 hood and the 67 style hood and morph them together so to speak

Don't forget the 67-68 gmc hood latch (it is different from the 69-72 gmc hood latch)
