I have lots of unusual truck pics, the caption on these first 2 pics might be, maybe release the maxi brakes first before you tow 80,000lbs with 80,000lbs

If you are on Facebook at all, or have access to it, just check out a group called "Superstar Drivers of the Oilpatch".

Lots of big rig and other big equipment screw ups on there!

This one isn't exactly weird, but has become a common scene around home. Look closely and you can see the stacks from 2 trucks, and it likely has about 3 trucks pushing from behind.

what in the heck is that?

Re: Weird big truck pics

Not sure exactly, but basically just a very large vessel for an oilsands extraction plant. They travel through my home town a lot because there is a highway route that has no overhead powerlines.....well for some stretches of it there are none. That and there is 1 bridge crossing the North Saskatchewan River that can handle these loads and it is a few miles north of town.

Basically we can count on seeing oversized loads every week. Maybe not huge vessels like that, but even pipe rack modules, buckets for draglines and boxes for dump trucks come through town.

It involved a big truck, hauling a track hoe......which was chained down well enough to knock down a train bridge before the track hoe came off the trailer.
