Pics of painted tailgate panel
 

I was thinking about fixing a couple of dings in my tailgate strip wondering if anyone has painted them and how they look and hold up. Any ideas would help thanks.

Imho, they look better painted to match the truck, saw a black truck w/trim insert painted looked great. No pix of it, btw what color is your truck?

My truck is black I was thinking maybe and very nice siver with a little metallic in it similar to the bands on the new fords

What all would have to be done to paint that part the body color so it would last and look as nice as the paint on the rest of the truck? I really want to do this to mine.

I live on the Atlanta Craigslist i dont recall seeing that truck im going to have to look closer i like the way it looked in black

when I look I search by year (1987) and (87) and (K10). Most of the time the 87 stuff will not come up under 1987. I too live on Atlanta and NC craigslist. I told my wife that we could never move to GA, NC, SC because I would have to have 3 more trucks!!!!! Being in Tennessee is bad enough because there are still several of these old trucks around!!

Mine,78 Custom Deluxe,was solid color ,but decided to make it snap! outlined the letters with white

Liking the options now im trying to decide to paint the panel or paint the letters on the tailgate, maybe both and can always have options lol

On the Chevy Sport/GMC Street Coupe the tailgate panel was covered with color matched vinyl tape...so that is always an option

You should of course fill and repair any dents before installing the vinyl
