Indiana Jones Torches of Doom - JOB DONE !
Well, after the machine and wood conspired on two occasions to kill me, I went off to B&Q on the bike today to get a fence post.
To see the original carnage..... go look at this thread which has all the photos. CLICKY LINKY http://retrorides.proboards.com/inde...=147234&page=1 So started here.... http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps3a95c05c.jpg Took them home, cut them up http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pscd827cae.jpg Shaped http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps9cf5c716.jpg Copied http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps072c02e3.jpg Got all tied up http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps3b33072a.jpg Drilled a hole into which the tip of the rope went. Used a couple of balustrade supports. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psb8803a39.jpg http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psfa03dc37.jpg http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps9ba3516f.jpg Wrapped the supports too. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psd13bc4f3.jpg .................................. If Carlsberg made Indiana Jones torches http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psae3c128e.jpg Cut the bottoms off these cans, painted them and screwed them down for the candles to fit into. Job Done, http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps4a2d6434.jpg In case any of you wonder, I purposely did not finish off the wood, as it could be varnished, stained or burned... Ashley is a very capable guy, so he can decide what suits the style of his Gamesroom. |
Re: Indiana Jones Torches of Doom - JOB DONE !
Well, after the last update, I can say that a whole load of changes have gone on in the various spaces Ashley has created.
I get the feeling he prefers to do stuff, rather than just talk about it. So posting updates are less important than actually getting out there and doing stuff. HIS FULL BUILD THREAD HERE http://retrorides.proboards.com/inde...=115116&page=1 I had a job interview in Portsmouth yesterday, about 5 minutes and less than a mile from his place. So I took the torches I had made for him for the "manspace" over..... http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps4a2d6434.jpg When I got there at 10.15, I found the man busy in the kitchen. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psa057d8a0.jpg Making some Bacon Butties.... and coffee. These were quickly dispatched, Thanks a lot mate, they were rather good, in fact, very good. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps1939dd3e.jpg Of course we went and had a good look at the garage, its contents, and his games room. I have to say, the photos do not do any of the stuff he has made, any justice. It is as good as you can imagine. http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_2606.jpg http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_3218.jpg While out there, he produced this book and gave it to me..... just how much better can a day get? http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps70b81bad.jpg Ashley has also been collecting some number plates for me while doing his day/night job, and gave these to me before I left for the interview. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psd73a7845.jpg Included was this mini cab taxi license plate. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps22657956.jpg And possibly the most important sign ever..... It will be going down the end of the drive at the garage, so then I can leave a sign on the house front door to say I am at the "back-END" if people come knocking. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psacbcb6c8.jpg So a great day out, meeting a cool guy and getting to feed both my belly and my hobby/habit. Today the postman knocked and delivered this old sign, liberated 30-plus years ago by a certain Andy, member on various forums. So another great sign to add to my slowly growing collection of random signs. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps1cc7e357.jpg Once I have re-arranged the garage and created some new spaces, all my signs will be going up again. |
