66 C10 Leaf Spring Rearend
How do I change my 66 C10 to a 4x4 Leaf spring rearend. Thanks

Re: 66 C10 Leaf Spring Rearend
Are you wanting to install a rear end from a 4x4 under your truck, onto the trailing arms, or are you wanting to do away with the trailing arms and go to leaf springs?

Do away with Trailing arms and go with Leaf springs.

Re: 66 C10 Leaf Spring Rearend
Easiest conversion would be to find a '63-'66 GMC 1/2 ton and start swapping out entire rear end set up. Caution, dealing with all the rivits will be the most time consuming task.

Re: 66 C10 Leaf Spring Rearend
I have a 72 K5 blazer complete Front and rear end with spring hangers, axle, and leaf springs I was wanting to put under my 66 to convert to 4x4 Is there any way to lift the truck in the rear with the trailing arms.

Re: 66 C10 Leaf Spring Rearend
The 65 I am restoring had a early 80s rear end under it with the leave springs. The hangers were bolted and welded. I removed them and went back to the original setup. It looked easy enough to do.

This thread will give you an idea what is involved in converting from a C10 to a K10.
