I am not sure if this is what you are referring to, looks more purple to me but GM called it Black Rose (WA9885) and was only available on the corvette for a couple years.

I used to have a truck with Black Cherry paint and I loved it. I always got compliments on it. I'll try and put a couple pics up when I get a chance.

The vett color I messed with once. Its an ok color but not what I am looking for. I think it maybe a candy paint?? I will message monte and see if he knows anything about that truck. That seens close but not sure. We no how pics can be lol. I can see it in my head but cant describe it. And I dont really no enough about paint either. And body shops here wont even talk to me unless it is a factory color and I have the code and I mine as well do it myself then. Some even want me to prep and mask and still charge 5k for it and it is stock. Abd thats not what I want. Thanks guys hoping someone that does custom paint my chip in as a few of us like it

My Fatherinlaw had an 85 or so Cadillac that was what we used to call "black cherry"..Try some Cadillac colors from that era. It was darker then the truck above.

montes looks like a candy black cherry paint job. There were some recent black cherry pearl paints on Toyota's , Honda's and Lincoln's you may want to check out. The lincoln color is very sharp. I see them all the time.

The fenders are black, but the body on my LaSalle was a mid eighties Oldsmobile color called Black Cherry. I think it was used on the 88 Royale and 98 Regency cars.

Re: Black cherry???

I'd avoid it unless you can afford the super expensive PPG 2021 clear coat. Otherwise it may very well turn out looking brown, or purple. That seems to be what generally happens to people who use that color, but don't dump a lot of money into the paint job.

that paint chip is what it is. i talked with monte nice guy gave looks of info. he did his with gray then the brandy wine but said he should have used black over the gray. looks like i will be needing to save looks of pennys for it tho. and need to find some one that can do it to what i want.

When we painted mine, we put just a little purple pearl in the black paint. Looks black 99% of the time, but when the light hits a corner you can see the purple. Never have been able to capture it in a photo.

Chrysler had a black cherry around 1990 and nissan had one around 1996. Could also try a black paint with a red metal flake in it, thats probably what these colors are.

I had my truck frame painted black cherry and it didn't look like any of the trucks pictured in this thread. These all look like purple, red or candy colors.

Mine was almost jet black until it was in full sunlight then it had a deep burgundy wine color to it but mostly very dark.

It was an industrial paint made by Imron years ago and didn't need a clear coat to shine.Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the truck and the guy who painted it is now dead.Back then most of the custom painted airplanes were using it but the guy who did my truck had a corvette painted in red that was out of this world. If you find some make sure to get the activator with it.

Dark Cherry Metallic (dcm) wa9800 is probably what you're thinking of.

This video shows it as the light hits it from different angles. It looks black than goes do a deep metallic cherry/purple color. When it fades over time it goes more purple and gets referred to as "peanut butter jelly" since it takes on a grape jelly look.
