I've got one in my blazer aswell, though it came from the factory that way. I like the look so much i bought a spare one for next to nothing :)

I think that style of steering wheel is the best one ever to be made. I love them! :metal:

It beats the hell out of any aftermarket wheel. I have one on my 68’ GMC and my 78 K10.

Here is the one on my K10

Well sorta kinda not really. There isn’t much on this truck that I haven’t swapped, chopped, bored and whored. This rig used to be a little ˝ ton with an automatic and the 203 fulltime 4wd tcase and did originally have cruise. The cruise has never worked since I bought it in 1996. When I swapped in the SM465 manual and NP205 tcase in 1999 I yanked out the cruise wiring harness since it was pretty badly chopped up…so no cruise control in this rig anymore just the cruise lever. Take a closer look and you can see I have my tach mounted to the old automatic shifter boss…..other than that you would never know my truck was originally a slushbox.

My dad has a friend that bought his 1978 K20 brand new with a SM465 manual and it does have factory cruise that still works too. Sucker even has a factory tach.

I'll stick with the Grant GT wheels!
Feels a little small at first, but then its perfect.

I bought this one off ebay for around $60.
Its the fake carbon fiber one.

Hey DirtlyLarry:
Where did you get that shifter knob (sm465)?
My stock knob is smooth and I like that textured looking one.

Hey Phoenix, you know the best part about those Grant wheels is you can still drive with handcuffs on! Just kidding

The shift knobs are still available from any GM dealer or you can order them from LMC truck. I bought mine from my local dealer. Since you are in Phoenix, I am sure Brown and Brown will have one if not maybe Sands Chevrolet.

SM465 4 –speed manual trans shift knob GM part #14072696 or LMC 30-2659
NP205 4wd shift knob GM part #15648946 or LMC 30-2700

Eddie,

I'm diggin' those guages! Give the details on those and is that a tach that's blocked from view by the steering wheel in the pic? Muy shweet!

YoSSI 06-21-2003 01:53 AM

I need to get a smaller steering wheel, I still have the stock one and its kinda big :(

TIMSPEED 06-21-2003 06:28 AM

Maybe I should just pirate that steering wheel off a 91 Chevy Van :D Is it a direct-fit replacement??
