You can DIY if you have a big enough 500F oven.
Ceramic coating is very strong. Great for coating headers and other small parts. Can polish to high sheen w/ elbow grease. I just polish in media blaster because it is very quick and easy; leaves a satin finish. Who ever coats them, make sure they are properly prepped because it is a very difficult coating to remove and redo. |
Re: ceramic coated headers
So is what you are doing in the oven, ceramic or powder coating? Is it applied the same way and then baked on?

Cost about $20 per bottle. One bottle will coat two headers and several small parts. Applied w/ paint gun; used small tip size because it is thin. Sprays out nice. Coating is very weak until cooked. I don't have powder coating system but hope to one day. |
Re: ceramic coated headers
There is Cap's up in Fresno. I had a couple of stock manifolds ceramic coated in a Cermachrome finish and it ran me about $180 for both.
You can find them at www.capscoatings.com |
