driving my square about 1000 miles

I just got the call. Have to be in Houston on monday morning at 8am. Friday consists of oil and lube. New tires. And all of the apartment uneeded. Then jumpinjump in my 87 K5 and driving from Omaha,Ne. To Houston Tx. I am not going to be a speed demon and I am crossing my fingers. All will be good! I know it will. While I am in Texas.... I would love to meet some board members (square freaks) as my time allows. Wish me luck fellas!

There are quite a few square fans in Houston. If you get up to the DFW area, give me a shout.

Where in Houston you going to be? If you've been to Houston before and know where downtown is I'm about 20 minutes from there. It would be awesome to meet, nice to always put a name with a face and see other passionate Squared fans!!

Re: driving my square about 1000 miles

made it to houston on sunday early evening with only one unscheduled stop for a broken exhaust hanger. the couple of days before we left were hell though.
got the oil changed and put new tires on. a couple of days before that i had noticed that the main power steering belt was really loose and kinda just sitting there. so i bought a new belt and when i went to put it on, i discovered that all of the bolts that hold the pump to the bracket were all gone!? put some bolts in it and a new belt. I also had a fuel line that was leaking (tbi to frame) so I was replacing that, and the boss on the tbi where the fitting screws in, broke off! Mother Fu@%*#....... so I called a buddy that owns a truck yard and got a factory tbi from him. Needless to say, it wasn't any good.... so now I'm sitting with a broken Holley 670 and a junk factory one....We ended up welding the broken piece and walla..... good to go. Blazer pulled 16.5 MPG! I was expecting 12 at the best. So that made me very happy.

We should get a schedule today. we have to familiarize with the territory. I sounds like for now, work 5 and 1 off for the next 3 weeks with jobs starting at different times all throughout the day.
