So the wire going to the back of my new alternator is just a constant hot wire? And i can just disregard all wiring going to the external regulator?

uhhhh.......I'm sorry but I've made to many mods over the years to honestly say...

I disabled mine using instruction from a thread on this site instructing what to do. Since then I rewired under hood and removed most of that wiring with a stand alone harness and added 7 additional fused/relayed circuits via a "circuit boss" from Painless. I wish I could say pull this, leave that...but in the interest of safety will leave that to one more experienced then I.
