Hooker super comp headers - which ones (fitment for lowered trucks)
ok guys, i currently have a 350 sbc in my truck, and have heard some talking about running a "car" header on our trucks - specifically lowered trucks - to help maximize clearance issues with "collector droop" on the bottom side of the truck.
Anyway, i have a Mcgauphys 4.5/6 drop with a short tire up front and am looking at throwing a set of long tubes on it. So my question would be, whats the best fitting "car" header for our trucks, that we can run and not have clearance issues with steering components and/or trans cross member. Also, the same questions as above go for big block headers, as in the future (long ways in future now that i bought a house) i will be dropping a 496 stroker in my truck. Thanks guys, heres a couple pictures of my truck to give an idea on total drop and ground clearance http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...0/IMG_3597.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...0/IMG_3001.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...0/IMG_3003.jpg |

Sanderson headers are much better, I have had hooker headers in the past, will go with Sanderson for all future exhaust needs based on how well they are build and fit.

you would smash a set of super comps quick on that thing, they like to hang low, i have heddmans on my truck and my chevelle and neither set hang any lower than the trans pan

You want long tubes that fit for sure on the trucks and don't droop the only for sure thing I have heard is Doug's headers or Doug thorley. Both very spendy but well worth it

I am running Heddman's on my 555 with 2" primaries and 3.5" collectors, that were made to fit a late 60's Camaro, Chevelle, etc. BBC car. They do not hang below my frame at any point. I also sent mine off to have them Jet coated, and swapped the collector mounts out to V-band style clamps.
