That is the craziest strip I have ever seen. I actually seen people looking under a pro-stock type car from the rear as it was launching years ago.

I lived in Jonesboro for almost 2 years, and never made it there. After we had moved back here to TN, we went in to visit friends and stopped in to see George Ray. When I heard of his passing a few years ago, I was worried what would happen to the dragstrip. I called and spoke to his daughter one day, and she had full intentions of keeping it just the way it is and always has been.

Every time I see photos or hear stories about GR's, it makes me want to go. I'll make it one of these days. Come to think of it, I wasn't that far away during Power Tour, but it was on Tuesday, so may not have been anyone there.

My wife and I bought a car in Paragould about 10 years ago. I had heard of George Ray's,but I wasn't sure of where exactly it was located. We turned off of 412 onto 135 to "test" the car,and there was George Ray's by the side of the road! Very cool!

We've been through there many times,but we've never been to the races.
