Transmission Gauge

Hey guys,, I've also got a 93 suburban 4x4, just had to put in a new transmission, but it does have 200K+ on it, my question, is there a trans gauge I can get, and where would I put the sensor so I can make sure this one doesnt get too hot, we sometimes pull a stock trailer (horses) as well as a flat bed, for truck parts as well as haul hay.. etc.. and dont want to buy a new tranmission again... thanks for your help

you can get trans gauges made my Autometer and they mount on your trans pan. You will have to modify the pan (so you can mount the mechanical sensor) or if it has a drain plug you can use that.

I have one in my truck. As Jeff said, you have to braze a fitting in the pan for the sender bulb. Finding someone who is good at it is the thing.

I went through a mess with my first pan. A guy I work with brazed it the first time. It leaked. I took it to a guy I use for my exhaust and he removed the fitting and brazed in another fitting. It leaks a tiny, tiny bit. I bought two more fittings from Autometer and using a another pan I had laying around, went to Lowe's and bought a cheap MAP gas welding kit and brazed it myself. It don't leak. :D

Do you have an external cooler installed? If you install one you should be pretty safe. I have a the biggest GVW cooller I could install and don't worry about temp.
