1967 Custom Camper C10 or C20????
Hey fellas, I've been searching for quite some time and cannot find a possible simple answer. Did they make a custom camper 1/2 ton in 1967?? The truck has "custom" on the upper part of the door and the usual custom camper badges on the fenders. Truck is 100% original... I wish I would have taken off a hub cap to confirm, doesnt help that the truck is 800 miles away
Thanks! |

Yes, you can have a Custom Camper in 1/2 ton. Taking off the hubcap wouldn't help you tell anything though. I believe 67 the option was available also. Should be listed on the spid if you have the original glove box door.

Removing the cap would tell him if it's a 1/2 or 3/4 ton truck.
How's it advertised shotpile? I'd venture a guess that most were 3/4 tonners, but 1/2 ton custom campers were available (at least in the late years, so assuming possible in 67). Posted via Mobile Device |

It isnt advertised at all, got a tip from a friend that this cherry truck has been sitting forever. I would love to make the trip and pick it up. Apparently it has a 327... so would that be backed with a TH400??

Nice looking truck, I would think those hub caps are 1/2 ton....but not 100%..

Sorry, thought he knew that he had a half ton already. The caps look like 1/2 ton to me. But that truck sure looks to be in nice shape. Paint looks like it would buff out real nice.

I agree with y'all - looks like 1/2 ton caps to me. Nice truck! I'd say go for it regardless if 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton status.

Re: 1967 Custom Camper C10 or C20????
67/68 hubcaps are identical on 6 or 8-lug trucks on the outside. It's how they fasten on the back that differs. Your serial# will start with CE1 if C/10 and CE2 if C/20. Looks like a C/10 from here,by the 15" wheels. C/10 Custom Campers were available and rare. I believe '69 was the last year they were offered. It would most likely had the TH400 being the big motor and Custom Camper. Not part of the option, but likely due to HD options generally spec'd out on Camper models. That's a fantastic find!!!

WOW that is a gorgeous find! other than the white paint on the cab and mine being 3/4 ton, it is identical to my 67! Love it :metal:

Camper Specials were an option from factory....more or less had added leaf springs for extra load weight. Didnt matter if 1/2 or 3/4 ton. Ford did the same thing all the way back to the early 60's. Gotta remember, back them bed campers were a common way to get out to the rivers to camp. They are a classic style dying fast to the bumper pull popups.

My Grandfathers 1971 GMC SWB had a Top like that but a lil smaller I believe

The Custom Camper option didn't come with many options people say they do. The badge was the option with just a few options required to be allowed to order it,along with recommended other options. Even the camper mirrors, wiring, and sliding window were options.

I always suggest sending a PM to ask a question from an old post people have stopped looking at.
