68 2wd to 4wd
I have a 68 CST two wheel drive truck with long bed, stock 396, turbo 400, factory air, etc. and I am wondering if it is worth converting it to four wheel drive.

Its only worth it, if that is something that you really want.

Re: 68 2wd to 4wd
You'll get quite a bit of advice that it is easier to buy a 4wd long bed frame and swap the body over. Dieselwrencher used a 2wd frame and took parts off a 4wd frame to convert his. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=310493

Re: 68 2wd to 4wd
I think my truck is rare because of the cst, 396, turbo 400 and factory air. I own a late model chevy diesel 4x4 so I do not need one. Would I make the 68 less valuable? I found a 68 3/4 ton 4x4 I can buy cheap and use just the chassis. I would rather it be a 1/2 ton I think but?

Re: 68 2wd to 4wd
yeah you would probably take away some value. and i would go 1/2ton if it were 4wd your gas i bad neough with the 396 plus the 4wd will be worse and then with 3/4ton you really wont be able to drive it

Re: 68 2wd to 4wd
what about in town?? haha probably 10 or 9... same for my 68 4wd though :D but the 3/4 ton in the mix you probably get 5 in city 10 on freeway? LOL and with gas at basically 4 dollars a gallon and a 22 gallon tank...you wont have many full tanks.. unless of course your last name is leno.
