battery disconnect

Maybe a dumb question (not for me, though)....

Is there any reason why you're supposed to install a battery disconnect on the NEG post of the battery instead of the POS? Does it really matter? Thanks.

Re: battery disconnect

the battery holds its charge better with the ground disconnected. its more of a storage use. if its for theft, go with the positive side

Re: battery disconnect

The disconnect is more likely to corrode on the positive side of the battery due to the direction of flow the electrons travel through the circuit.
