Evap deleted, what about charcoal canister?

Guys

Im installing my 5.3 in my 71. I have deleted the evap valve and wiring.

Since the evap is gone, i see no way to use the charcoal canister with the lm7.

In addition, my canister filter disintegrated when i was pulling the core support.

So, im assuming that i just delete the canister and block off the vent line at the tank? and then use a vented cap...

One thing i keep reading is how the vapors will just go to the atmosphere and not to the engine and decrease my mpg's... Anyone have any mpg numbers for vented vs evap system?

thanks guys

You can block it off with a good vented cap, but I've heard some people still get emissions/evap codes doing so, and choose to run a regular vent hose like you would for the trans or diff.
