hey dudes, i have a 76 K15 with a 454.
the vin says the truck was originally a 400
was a 454 available in the 1500?

I don't think the half tons were available with the big block. The 400 small block was the biggest gas engine available in a half ton.

1/2 and 3/4 4x4s never came with 454s from the factory, 4x2 you could a 454 in

C10 was available with a 454; largest engine for the K10 was the 400 (pages 27 & 28)

454 was available in C10-20-30 73-79

C20 and C30 in 1980

C20 and C30 1981-87;also K30 1981-87

The K30 had a special pan to clear the Dana 60 properly

At least this is what I remember in Canada

We ordered one of the first 81 K30s with a factory 454 for a tow truck
