Fuel pump HELP

My truck is starting and running but has no liquid fuel in the filter. Do you think my pump is going out? Is there too much heat and it is vaporizing? With the truck running, the clear plastic filter is "flexing" with no liquid fuel.

Re: Fuel pump HELP

Are you sure that it's empty? When those translucent filters get hazy, full and empty can look pretty much the same without any air bubbles to help see. If it's starting and running, then it's obviously getting fuel.

EDIT: Another thought... If it's a plastic filter, it should be on the suction side of the fuel pump. It it is visibly "flexing", you may have a clog/crimp in the fuel line somewhere between there and the tank.

False alarm. you were right about the plastic hazed filter. It is full of fuel. I need to quit looking at my motor when I am on night shift and sleep deprived. Last time I locked the keys and the dog in the cab. Thanks for the quick response.
