How big of a C-notch would I need in the rear framerail to get my truck as low as possible when aired out???? Also it look's like the tire's are gonna rub the inner bedside and wheel tub???? Can anyone help me out????/

you could put you a small step notch in there. then put 3 inch blocks in under the axle. if not just a regular c- notch would prabably be all you want. are the wheels and tires stock? if so they should just slip in.

I think we may need some more info before providing a good answer, who low do you want to do, what size tires are you going to run. Do you want the rear end to protrude into the bed (cut a hole for the pumpkin) or do you want to keep the bed floor stock. If you want to keept the bed floor, then you should be able to use a 6" diameter pipe cut in half. I would not go beyond 2/3 of the frame thickness unless you are going to reinforce to the top of the frame rails. If you are going to Step notch it and really lay it out then you may need to build new inner fenders.

I am in the same stage, My 9" should be here this week and my wheels should be right behind. The tire will go way up in the bed like this pic.......I do plan to trim out the inner wall of the bed though and then rebuild that structure with the wheel tubs, the floor will get cut out too for the axle and center section. That is a 305-50-20 a 32" tire

Right now I have a 275-60-15 tire onb a 15x8 wheel....As to how low I would like to go would be as low as the front crossmember will allow. If I cut out my bed floor section and notch the hell outta my frame with some retangular tubeing,will my bed still have floor not to bow at the wheel well's...Gleen what have you used to lower your ride.

It is currently bagged with dropped spindles in the front. The pic shows where I was measuring for the rear axle and wheel/tire combination. Once the axle gets here I plan to cut the frame off behind the cab and build new rails out and back laying the back as low as the front, the bed will definitely have to be cut out for the axle but I have a lot of sheetmetal equipment to build a new bed floor including a slip roller, break, shear and bead roller.

It currently has 275-60-15's all the way around but it will have 245-45-17's up front and 305-50-20's on the rear kind of like the truck Jim Aust did for Sport truck a couple of years back.

Keeping the truck sitting level with the large tires on the back I hope to cross the "Pro Touring" and "Pro Street' gap together. like this.....

has only the CPP frame notch (had to mod it to clear the ECE Panhard bar)...

Not sure how much lower you want to go, but it can be done with fairly conservative notches.

Kenneth, How did you modify your notch? did you extend it more? I'm deciding on which modification to do. Either your way or Slammed67's way (I hate it when i forget names)....

On the right side, I made the notch extend further back... basically double the opening as before. This gave me enough clearance for the whole Panhard bar bracket and Heim joint to ride up into the notch.

BTW, slammed67's real name is "that other guy" ;)
