will fit the 60-63. Is out of a large truck with the air pressure guage for air brakes. My cluster had one originally that I swapped for a factory vacuum guage as its more towards my application.

Re: 1960 -62 ???
I am buying it right now. Sratch that he sold it yesterday but he has a lot of GMC and Chevy parts if anyone is in the Portland Oregon area. He is also moving so willing to make good deals. He has a good GMC cab and a good Chevy cab both 65. Great doors as well. Not bad on his prices either.

Re: 1960 -62 ???
Its a nice set up, just hope that the tach works or they get expensive to fix. If the tach is an EB-8, it does not require a box to work. Most of the other models did. Nice find. Are you converting to factory guages or do you already have them?

Re: 1960 -62 ???
Can someone school this dash tach novice? Are these original tachs mechanical drive or electrical? Do these tachs fit all years of dashes (60-66)?

Re: 1960 -62 ???
electrical & yes, it will fit the 60-66 clusters

Re: 1960 -62 ???
Thanks. From what I gather, the early, OEM tachs require some sort of accessory box. Do the repros have that box as well? Would be interested to see a repro installation. Also, how do you know where the redline markers should go for your particular engine?

Re: 1960 -62 ???
That's a deal.
Just wish it was for a 64. I would love to find a gauge cluster with real gauges instead of the idiot lights that are in my 64 now. |
Re: 1960 -62 ???
Short thread o the original tachs, you can buy the repops that will look and work like the original, spendy but you`ll spend that much on an original to get them to work, Early Classic Enterprises sells repops.

Re: 1960 -62 ???
If its a model EB-8, it will not require a box to work. They were a self contained unit. It will need a filter if being run w/HEI. If its not an EB-8, you will probably need the box to runit. Several places sell the wiring harness's for the tach.

Re: 1960 -62 ???
Pretty good deal. The factory tach's are hard to come by. The tach is worth close to the asking price if all is well.
|
Re: 1960 -62 ???
They will hook right up to HEI with no filter...plug and play...
