Carb to throttle body conversion help

I have a 1987 chevy k10, that has a 350 in it with a quadrajet on it, and have had nothing but problems with it. Since I'm getting ready to rebuild the engine, I'm leaning towards putting throttle body back on it since I have all the wiring and the ECM for it, but am wondering what all I will need to convert it. The previous owner put an 85 engine in it, so I believe I'll need a different set of heads because I've heard the tbi manifold won't match up with it, a tbi assembly, map sensor, egr solenoid, coolant temperature sensor, a knock sensor, oxygen sensor, tbi distributor, and an electric fuel pump. Would appreciate it if someone who knows about this can confirm this is all I need, or if I'm missing something. Also none of my gauges are hooked up, so I don't know if this will play a factor or not.

I would put an Edelbrock manual choke carb on it.
Something you can keep going a few decades.
Q-jet is the most complicated carb I've rebuilt; only rebuilt one w/o manual.
Many enjoy tinkering on them and would probably be easy w/ a guide.

I would go that route but I like not having to wait for a carberuted engine to warm up, especially in the winter, and I should get slightly better mpg with tbi also.

Carb w/ manual choke warms up fast.
Properly tuned carb gets good hwy mpg but TBI probably wins city mpg.
TBI is more accurate but harder to trouble shoot and repair once obsolete.
Just my 2 cents.
TBI is fine if that's what you prefer.

1) Check out TBI swap thread for numerous TBI related information

2) You do not need to swap out your 85 heads. While it is true that 4 inner intake manifold bolts are drilled at 72deg angle on swirl port heads the manifold holes can be slotted to accommodate 90deg angle found on 85 heads.

3) To swap back to the TBI you'll need the following:
a) TBI body
b) MAP sensor
c) EGR solenoid (and EGR valve),
d) CTS coolant temperature sensor
e) KS - knock sensor
f) ESC - electronic spark control module (used with KS)
g) NBO - oxygen sensor
h) TBI dizzy - TBI or CCC distributor
i) VSS - 2000 ppm vehicle speed sensor (if it was removed by PO)
j) oil FP switch and electric fuel pump.

3) As for gauges - take a look at the back of the cluster if the main plug has been disconnected.
