77 ac setup help.

My 77 c10 had the old style set up with the log compressor. what parts do i need to change over to the pancake compressor. what donor trucks in the scrap yard to look for?

Re: 77 ac setup help.

I have seen the pancake compressor in the pick a parts as early as 82 or so. To me I have seen them mostly on cars.

Personally i would do a serpentine belt swap, and get all the better items.

When my motors time comes I am likely to do a Vortec 350, and I will use either Vortec or TBI accessories. Depending on if the TBI items fit the Vortec engine.

Vortec setup is a pice of cake. thought about the serpentine swap but my heads don't have all the bolt holes for it.i already have serpentine belt on my truck for the water pump and alt.i can run a v-belt for the compressor. If i get a pancake from a later truck do i have get the accumulator for that model for it to work>
