Just curious is the 500 good for all the v-6's or just the 305 I just ran across a couple of these 478m and 401m and with these being bigger i didnt know if the 500 would be good for them. Make sure you post some pics up for us i would like to see the complete setup, and is this for your k-5

Hey bro knowing your truck I would modify the oil bath to make it look stock with a KN filter. I did this with mine. Also the choke cable is not long enough.

I used the low profile cleaner, you can find them at your local FLAP.

Re: V6 305 HOLLEY SWAP air cleaner ??
I changed the bottom of my stock 2bbl air filter to one that was same overall dimension, but had the Holley flange sizing, then, used a K&N replacement filter and stock single snorkel top.
One thing I'd suggest when you get that filter, is to build a sheet metal air break. Simple to make, block the front 1/4th of the filter off, break mounted to the inside diameter of the air filter element, and held in place by the recesses on the filter bottom/top. Why? Fan air being forced across the top of the air horn on the carb only helps pull air OUT of the air horn as it passes over the top of the air horn, isn't being directed into the air horn/inlet, and that causes problems in drive ability. There are commercially available air breaks for open element air filters, to help manage the forced air through the filter issues, Trans-Dapt used to have them that fit on the outside of the filter element, in the bent over lips of the filter housing. |

Re: V6 305 HOLLEY SWAP air cleaner ??
Very nice! The Holley 500 swap is about the best thing you can do to a 305, in my opinion anyways. I used a 14'' low profile Holley aircleaner that I had powdercoated satin black and found a Fram airhog filter that was orange to match my motor a little bit.
