What steering column will work in my 66?
I need a new column in the 66. What years will bolt in it? 70's 80's work?

`66 to `86 truck and or vans if you want keyless, the trucks will have key starting in `72, and some tilt.

None are a direct bolt in except for the '64-66 columns, or an aftermarket made specifically for them.
I have a 1994 Chevy Suburban column in my '65 C10 but the mounting brackets and column are both heavily modified. |

I mounted a 63 in my 66 with no modifications. Before 63 I think they used a different bracket.

Isn't the '63-66 all have the "modern style" turn signal switch and the 60-62 have the remote style mounted lower on the column? |
Re: What steering column will work in my 66?
Motor homes up into the early to mid 70's usually have a keyless column and many have tilt...got one from a 73? or 74? one-ton m-hm. & it worked beautifully in my '66; so did the p-steering pump, brackets, lines, and gear box. Yes, the 1/2 ton thru the 1-ton truck gear boxes are interchangeable during those years; they do not turn backwards like the G10-G20 vans! So, while plundering in the yards, do not overlook these options!
