From warning lights to gauges?

I have a chance to buy an original gauge cluster with the gauges and not the warning lights....

I hate to assume anything so I will ask...

The warning light wires that I currently have should hook up in the same place on the cluster with the gauges and work correctly? or should I know something that I will run into to mess up this cluster swap out?

I haven't done this swap myself but I've heard you have to swap out the idiot light harness for the gauge harness. There should be something on this subject in the search section if nobody that's done this chimes in you might look there anyway good luck Mccoy...Vernski:lol:

I just did this in my sub... the warning light harness is pretty different... after looking a bit I found it easier to change out the whole harness, btw it was all different, the cowl, under dash, and engine harnesses all had different stuff to run the lights instead of the guages, so I ended up changing all three .... hood heater and taillight harness were the same though..

Re: From warning lights to gauges?

Alot of changes. The temp sending unit and wiring are different, as is the ammeter. The oil guage has to be plumbed and the the fuel is the same. The main underdash harness, the cluster harness and engine harness are different and have to be converted or replaced. Fuel is the only guage that doesn't have to be rewired.
