98 vortec efi in 86 truck
 

Hey I have a 98 Fri vortec pulled straight from the truck with everything still on it like water pump and power steering and alt and a/c pump all that. And my motor in my 86 went out and I'm going to put a vortec carb intake on 98 vortex and drop it in my 86. Can I put all on my rotating assembly(like the water pump and power steering and alt and a/c) off of the 86's motor onto the 98 vortex or I can only use the 98's rotating assembly? And what do I do with the radiator because the 98 motor use the Orange antifreeze? Thanks for the info

I would drop it in as is. Its got a higher amp alternator for one and isn't that a serpentine setup? Shoot I would run the fuel injection too.

Flush out the orange stuff real good when you switch over.

I 'll reprogram your ecm for 75 to flash out items that will throw codes..

what trans will you run.. 4l60e is the way to go. you will need speedo from 90 91 I can adjust ratio and tire size so your speedo reads correct

I would just drop in as is but I don't know how to wire up the efi and stuff. And I'm running my stock trans.

google for the stock wiring diagram send me the link I'll red line the drawings and tell you which items can be removed

ecm will need a reflash to eliminate the stock auto assuming auto was behind the engine...
eliminate gas tank pressure sender
eliminate 2nd rear set of o2's
etc

can drive relay for electric fan ...
