1976 Long bed rear leaf suggestions...

I have a 76' 1/2 ton longbed 2wd that I made the mistake of removing some leaf springs and having them de-arched. The rear's ride is now is very harsh. I almost need a kidney belt to drive the truck. I will be going back to some form of stock springs. I currently have a 1" drop D.J.S. front springs. I like the subtle stock look. I would like to have a/or near 3/4 ton rear load capacity. I think this is around 1900-2000lbs

QUESTION: Does anyone have any pics of their trucks or real world experiences to share with a leaf spring swap/purchase they've made? I am looking for close to or at 3/4 ton rear weight capacity. However I am wanting a level/1"higher rear compared to front ride height. I would settle for 1" higher in the rear if I had to.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hate to break it to you, but if you run 3/4 ton springs you will have the same ride harshness as you do now.

Run stock replacement half ton springs and add air bags if extra load capacity is really a concern.

I have put extra leaves in a couple of mine because in the winter I pack a 75 gallon methanol tank for work so I need the load capacity. It does make the truck ride rough in the summer though.I would suggest Pyrotechnic's idea of 1/2 ton springs and air bags. Best of both worlds then, nice ride & you can load it up if needed too...I don't mind the ride cause hey it's a truck, but some might not like the stiffness....
