How are the Fairchild brand window channels?
Found out why at freeway speeds it's like the windows are not rolled up when in fact they are. The window channels are rubber-less on the rear windows on this crew cab C30 dually.
RockAuto and Advance Auto both sell Fairchild brand window channels for a good price. Thinking of getting the channel and inner/out scrapers too. How is the Fairchild brand for fit and longevity? Any chance of getting the channels installed without pulling the window out? |
Re: How are the Fairchild brand window channels?
I would guess it depends on how low the glass recesses into the door when fully down...I have not done them on my truck yet although it needs them , i have done them a bunch of times on chevelles and camaros and the inside sweeps are part of the door panel itself..

Re: How are the Fairchild brand window channels?
I did mine with Fairchild's last week. I have a single-cab, but the fitment wat great. The scrapers are also very nice and closing good everywhere.
I did not removed the windows. Crank them down, lube the channels with some vaseline or grease and push them in until you reach the window. Take a long piece of metal and push them further. 1 side is very easy because you can push the window aside the channel. Other (next) side is a little harder because it's already tighter. I don't know how rear doors work out though.. |

Google "rockauto discount code". That will turn up a 5% off discount code that you can use to help ease the pain a bit lol.

Re: How are the Fairchild brand window channels?
Finally installed the rear window channel today. Fit was good EXCEPT for the 90 degree bend at the rear corner that is also where the fixed window sits. Could not get this to look right on either side. Spent a LOT of time on it too. Gave up. The rest looks fine and in comparison to what was there before, which was nothing as most of it was broken and missing, it's much better.
