Radio
Does anyone know a company that sells a factory style cassette stereo for a 1984 C10 that also has a auxiliary for an iPod?

Re: Radio
Not really sure of one that makes a cassette player and an auxillary hookup....that might be a long stretch. I have seen some radios that are throwbacks. They look just like the factory radio, except when turned on they have a digital display, auxillary hookup, and they push the same wattage or better than most radios on the market. You can normally just do a google search and find these... I know they sell on ebay. I just really doubt you will find a "knob" style radio with a cassette player and auxillary hookup.

Re: Radio
Yeah I thought it may be a long shot! I want a cassette player because I have some old cassette tapes that my dad and I listened to when I was a kid in his 83 GMC. When I listen to them they always bring up good memories but I want to be able to plug in a iPod also......You know, have best of both worlds!

Re: Radio
I have a cassette tape adapter with an iPod plug; got it at Radio Shack or Best Buy or somewhere like that.
It probably is not the best for sound reproduction but I am not an audiophile (plus it's kinda noisy in there going down the road) and it does allow me access to all the tunes resident on my iPod. K http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/...k/100_8737.jpg |

Re: Radio
Well they do make something that you can hook up to a computer and rip the music from a record or cassette into an MP3. I know it might not be the same, but you could get the music from the cassette and have it on your Ipod and you won't have to flip the cassette.

Re: Radio
I just found this on Amazon thanks to Keith Seymore. I think it will work perfect. I like the look of the factory stereo and would like to have the interior look original as possible.

I ordered the truck with vinyl flooring (Scottsdale trim level). Originally it was burgandy colored (to match the rest of the burgandy interior); when I redid the truck I used a black mat from site vendor Capt Kaos. You can read about the whole process in my build/intro thread, linked below, if you are interested. K |
Re: Radio
I have this hooked up in my Jeeps. Works through FM radio (put it on 88.3, turn switch on, you have aux imput through the radio)
