Left/drivers side battery tray question.

I need to replace my worn , cracked battery tray in my `67 Sub. I have an "LS" swap in it and was thinking about moving the battery to make room for an air filter box.
Brothers sells an auxilary batt tray, has anyone used one? I`m trying to get my kids to get it for me for fathers day instead of another tie or something.

Would be an awesome fathers day gift. It looks really nice. Didn't the GMT400's have auxiliary trays, I wonder what an OEM replacement would be.

I cant comment on the quality of the tray but that price isn't too far off from what an OEM aux tray in need of a blast/paint would cost.

I was mostly wondering if anyone has purchased one, If they were happy with it.

I tried to buy one from them back in late 2011 they were back ordered is what I was told. So I waited some more and was finally told that the company making these was waiting for more demand on these before they would make them. Basically gave up on it took to long. Are you sure the have it in stock?

I bought mine from a while ago, haven't installed it yet but it seems well made. Roger seems to have the parts and information needed right below me!!

I am looking at possibly doing the same for the LQ9 going into our project.
That battery tray looks sturdy but the price is over the top.
There's a company named Ballistic Fabrication I'm looking at for a battery holder. I used their weld on caliper brackets on the 14 bolt in our project. Turned out good. They make all kinds of stuff for rockcrawlers.
Battery boxes are very reasonable...Like $36

Yeah good luck with that three week thing. That's the same thing I was told. Found one in the classified here. I still wanted one from brothers and asked them to contact me when in stock. Here it is 2013 and still no call. Not trying to bash on brothers I continue to still buy from them. Just think their supplier won't make them unless there's enough demand.

You are welcome...the thing I really like about BF holders is they are designed and sized for the common AGM batteries sold today.

Re: Left/drivers side battery tray question.

You will see them pop up on here from time to time. Personally, I like OEM, so I'd wait for a takeoff (hard to find) or I'd buy from Roger if I didn't want to wait (or if I wanted a brand new one). And I think his price is very fair, especially when you consider the up front investment on his part to get it reproduced. A used OEM one, with rust, will often run you over $100, easy. If you just want any tray, there are cheaper options. If you want original, I'd go with Roger or wait for one on the parts board if not in a hurry and you enjoy restoring them yourself.
