Throttle and kickback adjustment questions

I need some advice on adjusting my throttle cable and kickback cable. I own a 72 chevy c10. For some reason my truck downshifts in 2nd and 3rd and i checked the kickback and it was loose so i think i need to adjust it. Any advice?
