83 ign switch bad ?
 

my 83 c-30 ign. switch is sticking/hard to start /unless you shake key or jiggle it/or lift up and turn ! what part is actually bad ? key assembly or what ?how is lock cylinder removed from column ?{non tilt-automatic} thanks

sounds like your key itself is worn . does your key look worn down ? if not the lock cylinder is removed by a torx screw under the lock plate in column. you need to pull the wheel, use puller (pusher) to hold the lock plate down to removed snap ring. remove screw & remove key cylinder. good luck hope it helps.

thanks for the reply- the key is good -not worn-even had new one made /same thing !gues i will buy a new key assembly and try that ! thanks mike
