Saying Hi and a couple of pictures
4 Attachment(s)
Hi folks, thought I would drop a brief introduction and show some pictures of my truck. I'm new to the boards. My Dad owned this truck since new in 1981. He officially handed me the keys a couple of weeks ago. He knows that his baby will be going to a good home. Try not to look too closely at the dirt on the truck. It needs a bath big time. Here is my new (to me) pickup. Briefly, it is a 1981 C15 with 152,000 kilometres on the clock. It is a 350/T350. Stock colours, finish, interior, etc.

Re: Saying Hi and a couple of pictures
Thanks all for the warm welcome. The truck is all solid both interior and exterior. It has been painted but the same colour as from the factory. It has some quirks, such as the door locks work on one side but not the other. The speedometer needle bobs and weaves and carries on as if it was on some joyride of its own. But, for the most part, the truck is solid and doesn't use any oil or make any noises that can't be attributed to old age. It has the original motor/tranny/rear end/etc. The gas tanks long ago rotted away and were replaced, but the rest of the undercarriage is quite solid.

Re: Saying Hi and a couple of pictures
LOL..I guess I'm a little distracted today. Speedometer works the same way..Where it settles is your speed. I think there is a few posts on here about how to correct that..Feels like Monday

Re: Saying Hi and a couple of pictures
welcome, my speedo is similar to that (big tires). goes from 10k off at low speed up to 25-30k at hiway speed. i need the speedo gears, sounds like you need a new cable. usually here in bc we avoid ont. trucks (the dreaded salt), but that is one darn looking solid square!

Re: Saying Hi and a couple of pictures
Speedos start to bounce around when the connection at the back of the speedo or at the tranny dries up or gets too much grit in there. Disconnect, clean up, spray with some lithium grease, and reconnect. Should be a lot better.
