8 Lug Wheels ID For Sale? WIW?
 

I have 4 of these wheels 16.5 x 9.75 with 33's mounted. There are stampings on the front of k-1-5 6 10. They have the inside the center dimples for hubcaps. Can anyone identify these? Or what they are worth? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Dan

don't quote me I am sure someone else will chime in to say if I am right but I am pretty sure they are 67-68 custom camper wheels. 69-72 had the dimples on the outside

Not sure, maybe ford? 67-68 had spring clips for hubcaps.

I bought two 16.5-9.75 wheels out of Nevada a few years ago. One was a GM wheel with four external nubs, and the other looked exactly like this. The guy told me it came off a mid to late 1970's Dodge truck.

They are made by Kelsey Hayes.

K: Kelsey Hayes
1: Romulus, Mi plant
5: 1975

Dated June 10th. Might be a two letter code like AZ coded for Corvette. The two letter code designates the application.

Typically the stamps, K15, are just to the left of the fill hole with the date of month, 6, to the right before the hole and the day date,10, on the right side of the fill hole. The letter codes are to the right of day code.

They are Kelsey Hayes made for Fords but will fit GM if you just run open (or with Ford caps...yeah right!). They're worth more to a Ford guy,in general,but still worth a couple hundred for the set. A more accurate era-correct way to run these wheels is actually open. I never saw trucks with wide wheels and hubcaps back then. Once you get past the desire to have a truck with all the geegaws and doodads you'll see the look is a nice tough truck look of function. 9.75s weren't factory,so using hubcaps may give a more factory look,but it ain't faktry.

Thanks for all the info and pics on the wheels. I found some info that leaned me toward Ford. The wheels are a good look without caps on the the little red short bed. Give it that TOUGH look with smoother lines with the internal nubs. Again, Thanks to all. Dan

Dan,that's actually a K/20. Sitting up with bigger wheels & tires makes 'em look shorter. The open door and the angle helps,too :cool:
