Old Air Products A/C problems with install.

Hi All,
Just thought I would provide some prompt feedback as I move though the installation of aftermarket A/C system. So far I'm only a little upset but it isn't getting any better. The package arrived and when I opened it, there was no inventory list included. No way to make sure everything is there before starting the installation. I modified the control for the ventilation as their instructions showed and they said to place the new decal on the control to show how the lever functions had changed. There was no decal. I figured I can live with that because I'll know what the lever does. I moved a little further into the install and found out that a bracket used to mount the blower to the firewall plate is missing. So I figure I'll do the outside install. I put the condenser on the truck and loosely installed the drier. I got the aluminum A/C lines for a little fitup only to realize that one of the lines was bent incorrectly. So now the frustration level is building and I hear there customer support stinks. GMC Paul, I hope you read this. I know that none of this is your fault, but keep it in mind because if they are supplying poor quality products to your customers and not supporting them properly you may need to shift suppliers.

I think that the product isn't to bad. I looks like when I finally sort out all the little problems I'll be happy. I think some of the problems I'm having is due to the instructions. They refer to a bracket, the one I thought I was missing, what I believe now is that they meant a plate which attaches to the firewall and then the blower mounts to it. So I think that problem is resolved. I still have the tubing issue and no decal. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait for a new piece of tubing to arrive before I can complete the install.

A little update for everyone. The guys from Old Air Products stayed around after hours to call me and discuss my problems because I was working 6AM to 6PM and couldn't call them. Jemost 72 you were correct. They did inform me that the installation instructions have been revised and I had the old version. They talked through all my problems and ask for input on other areas to change in the instructions to make them better. My A/C line problem was due to a picture which showed an incorrect routing of the tubing. I'll only have to make a small adjustment to allow adequate clearance to install the tubing. I hope to become very knowledgable with this install so I can help others that will be installing their product in a 67-72 chevy truck. When I get the install complete and running I'll provide end result feedback. GMC Paul I vote for very good customer support for Old Air Products. Their product could use some polish ( clearer instructions and better pictures) and it appears they are working on that.
