62 c10 engine mounts
ive searched the forum and google and cannot find the mounts I need for my swap. im swapping a 5.3 into a 62 c10, it was a factory 6cyl truck with 3 on the tree, ive swapped in a 80s front crossmember also. I think ive seen a motor mount kit somewhere but I cant find em again.
thanks in advance |
Re: 62 c10 engine mounts
I believe you can just use the mounts/perches from the 80's model trucks, I think they are called clam shell mounts.
On my 65 I used the POL tubular perches but really could have used the stockers if I really wanted to. Oh and lets see some pix of this 62 beauty! |

Re: 62 c10 engine mounts
So I need engine stands from the truck the crossmember came from and dirty dingo mounts? I had the 80 engine mounts at one time and they didnt look like they were going to be even close, maybe I had something wrong. But I can't find the engine stands I had so I guess I will go find some more if I need em?

Re: 62 c10 engine mounts
I'm not sure if the 80s trucks had different engine stands depending on engine type, but I know the V8 engine stands from the 80s trucks will work. Just get some dirty dingo adapters and the 80s clamshell engine mounts and you're set. The only thing you'd have to dig into is whether the stock transmission crossmember will work. I know on the 67-72 trucks you just have to move it back a little and it bolts right up.

Re: 62 c10 engine mounts
The 80's stands are to tall for our 60-62 frames. They can be made to work with a 1" spacer under the frame side of the mount.
