350 Targetmaster tune up specs, anyone?

If anyone can offer me the correct tune up specs for a 1979 350 Targetmaster, Casting 3970010, MF07800 stamped on the deck, I would be eternally grateful. Or direct me to where I can find out. I have found nothing definitive on the web. Thanks.

Tune it up as you would whatever your truck calls for, and whatever personal preference you have for spark plug gap. As with even stock engines, play with timing to see if something else suits your driving style.

I know what you are saying, and I appreciate it. But I kind of like to have a correct benchmark to start with. For me it just makes it easier to start tackling any other issues I may have with fuel, etc.

8º advance.
.045" plug gap with an HEI.

If it is a 79 Target 350 then R45ts would be the original plug for it.

Where the engine came from doesn't matter. Its a 79 350, thats all that matters.

Targetmaster was a early version of a gm crate engine but was built just like a factory engine.
