aftermarket steering wheels.
im looking for some opinions here, what is the best size for a steering wheel for one of our trucks? i looked at some cheap ones today at autozone, they were 13.5 inches. they just looked too small, and possibly unsafe. so what is everyone's preference?

I'll second that , Great fit and gives you some extra leg room
|
I would say 14" if you have power steering, 20" if you don't :D

I have a 13.5 Grant Challenger in my truck. I find it's size very comfortable and don't really see a safety issue. I don't think I would go any smaller though.

I know I always seem to be saying this, but you might want to check with an inspection station if that is an anual issue in your parts. Some states forbid small wheels on trucks.
I have the same as Racedvl in both my trucks at the moment. I would never want to go back to the original school buss wheel again. |
longhornmail too bad they don't make the old school bus steering wheel in the smaller size, so you could have the stock look with out the no leg room and feel of driving a bus

nice wheel
I seen this on another tread, it's Dion's wheel, this is my favorite,

Oh, you were talking about steering wheels...I liked these wrapped in genuine leather. They were made for GM and offered for years after GM stopped using them. The company went out of business, so they are about all gone now.

Casey, that looks alot like my 71 Corvette steering wheel with a different center cap. I like that alot. I may have to consider putting one just like that in my truck. I'm having the leg room/ drink room problem and the original wheel is all cracked.

Casey, I agree 100%. I like the 67/68 wheel, but I could hardly get i with the wheel tilted down, and if tilted up, it almost hits my chest. (exadurated)

I have this one currently...Its a Grant....16" or 16.5". I am swapping to the late model Chevy truck wheel. I like both. This one was real nice because I don't have power steering. Anything smaller than a 15" for me and my skinny arms would be the death of me.
I'm switching, because like some of the others, I think the other wheel looks and feels so good. |
