Floor Shifter TH350
My 82 Sierra has a TH350 trans with the shifter on the column. I wanting to get a big, tall floor shifter put in my truck.
So, far I've found this one. It suppose to be a total of about 3 feet long. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/lo...make/chevrolet Does anyone know of any other really tall shifters made by other brands, that are around the same price or cheaper? Just wanting to look at any options that are available. Thanks guys. |
Re: Floor Shifter TH350

Re: Floor Shifter TH350
Why a long shifter? Move the whole thing up on a box.

Re: Floor Shifter TH350
That thing looks pretty cool! I wonder how hard it would be to fab something like that up?
And I wonder if it would work with my 4 speed auto... |
Re: Floor Shifter TH350
The link above is setup to a 700R4. If start in down in 1st gear, you can slap the shifter to jump up to the next gear all the way to OD. It has a reverse lockout so you don't accidently shift into Reverse.

Re: Floor Shifter TH350
Does the shift indicator in the dash still work? or no
|
Re: Floor Shifter TH350
Nope, indicator is on the slap shifter console.

Re: Floor Shifter TH350
been looking at lokars for awhile now, just havent got one since the 700 isnt ready to go in my truck yet but i love it. get one and throw it in i wanna see how they look in the truck

Re: Floor Shifter TH350
yea , like also . let us know if you get it & if you like it or not > seems a little pricey?

Re: Floor Shifter TH350
Thanks guys for the replies, looks like I'll probably end up going with the "Radical 32 inch" Lokar I linked to start with.
And, the reason I'm wanting a super tall shifter is because I like how they look, and I'm going for an overall menacing look with some rat rod type styling with my truck. |
Re: Floor Shifter TH350
If you really want a gear indicator on the dash dakota digital has a few options.

Mine came with my trans. I run my original linkage tandem with the lokar linkage to keep my reverse lights and gear indicator Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Floor Shifter TH350
I like that...Too bad those shifters are so darn $$$$.
|
Re: Floor Shifter TH350
that looks a little short to be the 32 in. but stil looks awesome! i really wanna get mine! haha
i also ran a B&M Rachet shifter back in my 75 with a 468 and th400 and FREAKING loved it! only issue i had was it would hit the seat sometimes racheting down the gears but nothing a little bit of the M-A-N Button wouldnt fix |

Has no one ever found these cheaper? Or a slightly cheaper alternative? |

Re: Floor Shifter TH350
Yeah, the 32 inch Lokar I'm looking at comes with linkage, so maybe it wouldn't be too hard of an install.
Is there a way to put a gear indicator in the floor? |

Re: Floor Shifter TH350
I fabed a box up for a consul shifter our of an 82-92 camero. I like it, mine was a short shifter too. I've got some pics on my build thread.

Re: Floor Shifter TH350
But like insidious said, run it tandem with original linkage, and the gear indicator on the dash will work at least?
