Is there a difference in 68 to 72 fender
Does anyone know the difference in a 68 to 72 front fender? I have a chance to pickup a 70 front fender for 40.00 bucks and I have a 68. I know the hoods are different but not sure about the front fenders! Any help would be great!

Re: Is there a difference in 68 to 72 fender
Yes the fenders are different. Just like the hood, they are not the same. 67 and 68 are the same. 69 - 72 are the same and I am speaking only for Chevrolet. GMC has there own set of rules.
I will correct myself and add that 67 and 68 fenders will interchange but the 67's do not have marker lights. |

68 Chevrolet fender is the same as a 68-72 GMC fender.
Do you have a picture of the one you were looking at? |

I guess people just assume Chevrolet for some reason. 68-72 GMC fenders are the same

I usually order from Forum Venders. But I have to admit to ordering parts from time to time from LMC. The reason is, that since I use their online and
hard copy catalog to answer questions I have that are similar to yours, I'd feel guilty if I didn't send them a buck or two from time-to-time. I just pull up the site and check the part numbers. So, if you look at this page, for example, you'll see the "sameness" and "differences" in fenders... ...across the years and between GMC and Chevy. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=23 My PIA has been more in identifying the *actual part*. Many times, especially on CL or E-Slay, the sellers REALLY don't know the year of the part they are selling. I wish I had a dime for every part stated to be "67-72" when it was really a 69-72. I'm sure you have all seen the same thing. |
