Future Mods

Hopefully in the near future I will be adding the following items to my truck and in this order.

1. PSC front-end rebuild kit

2. Posi rear-end with 3.42 gears

3. Rear disc brakes

I plan on doing 2 & 3 at the same time. What some of ya'lls future mods?

Going to be doing exhaust soon.
Gonna buy a cat, muffler, coat headers, and buy misc. stuff real soon.
Buying and chop saw and welder too.
Gonna do it all myself, maybe have a little help from some friends.

1. gears and posi

2. lt4 hot cam

3. shift kit

should have 1,2 ordered and intsalled in about 3 weeks. I just need to figure out what ratio. How did you figure out which gears to use?

I should be doing my exhaust in a few weeks. Then if I can make enough money before summer ends I might try and get the Chevelle scoops installed and strip and primer my truck. After that I'm saving up for a new engine and trans.

Just by reading what everyone was posting.

Rims, Leather bucket seats, alll new carpet, 373's with possi, 700r4 tranny, wood bed, and some more bling bling for the engine. I will have the gears within a month. The rest could be a while.

Need 3.73 or 4.10 gears front and rear (4x4) and would like a dual battery setup with another Optima. Also need to shim my console--it shakes like crazy at certain speeds and need to order new door scuff panels since I replaced all the weatherstripping. A cowl hood and rust repair is on the wish list (longer term goals.)

I've been thinking and I may go with 3.73s over the 3.42s. What do you guys think?

apstguy 07-01-2003 04:54 PM

Fix the A/C, new exhaust, tint windows, and I'll be done untill I can get enough dough for a drop and factory 350 crate engine. I'm not going to do any performance mods on the 350, but save up for a 383. My 305 is dying so it needs to be replaced but no way I can afford a 383 anytime soon.

Rettig Brothers has a good deal for a nice 355 with a 4 year/45k mile warranty. IM me about it. :D

550cu. going in (2 weeks)
STAY AWAY FROM 3.73's Unless you have a 700r4 or like to cruise at 60mph at 3300rpm:)

gldevall 07-02-2003 08:15 AM

Yeah that's what I've been thinking.
