Did my intro so I figured Id post a build thread to keep track of the progress. For those that didn't see my intro plans are: fleetside bed, dually conversion, 76 3/4 ton front suspension (pancaked), and full air ride. Tossing around the idea of a cummins 12 valve or a durramax. Truck is being built to pull a trailer for hot rods and what ever else finds its way home. It has been blown apart and I'm working on the suspension now.

Started the pancake on the x-member (1.5"). need to finish the humps and put the fillers in the ends but it's a good start. progress is a little slow as we are rearanging our shop to fit a couple more cars in and build a mezzanine. should have it knocked out in the next couple weeks then onto the steering clearance issues.

:hi: and :welcoem: to the site !!

I really like your pancaking pics, they are almost a straight up "how to" and make it look easy enough that I may attempt this one day !!

Good Luck on your build, hope you keep us posted !!

Thanks McMurphy. the pancaking wasnt that bad. I found having the vertical lines was key to lining it all back up. At this point I have about 4 solid hours into it and I figure I should have it completed in another 2-4 hours. I will definately keep the updates coming. Thanks again.

About to get back on the 65. Just finishing up a customers frame for a 40 ford pickup. We did secure a power train for the 65 this weekend though. It's official, we are going Durramax and Alison auto. Picked up a 2005 GMC 3500 over the weekend. super pumped!

Project sounds interesting.
That LLY Dmax is a lot of torque for these wobbly old frames......
