Instrument bezel 1970 C-10

Bear with me folks I'm new to the forum...went thru countless posts about removing the instrument bezel and mine is still hanging up on the middle to upper right near the wiper switch. Wiper switch knob and retainer ring is removed. Light switch knob and retainer ring also removed. Speedometer cable and oil pressure line also disconnected. It's almost like something in that right upper corner won't let go. Do I need to drop the steering column? Left side is totally loose.
Here I was going to put on a new dash pad and instrument bezel and I can't get past 1st base! LOL

I think there is a clip about where you are talking about for a ground. I don't remember any screws from the back that would be holding it.

Only other though is there is a screw from the dash pad about where you are talking about that maybe it is hanging up on the dash pad.

My details are fuzzy since all mine came out 8-9 years ago and I haven't got it back together yet.

I just had mine out last weekend. Sounds like you've got everything unhooked. Mine had to come out top first then slide out the bottom since I didn't drop the steering column down. Maybe try pulling it out while looking at the back of it to see if you find anything getting caught up?

I might try that. I've got after market air and of course it's right in the way. Maybe a few screws taken out will drop that out of the way. It's weird how there's hardly any play in the upper right corner as though something is pinning it to the dash.
Thanks,
Tom

Sometimes when i just cant get a good view underneath there i lay on my back with my leg on the ground and use the pedals for a head rest It really streaches your core and you can see whats going on up in there.

I should have mentioned that someone had placed a little auxiliary light just below the wiper switch but what I didn't realize is that they drilled not only through the bezel but also the dash. Somehow I was able to get my skinny hand up there and unscrew the nut holding it on. Not sure what they used it for because there was no bulb or wire to it.

Thanks again everyone for the suggestions and info. Now if I can finish getting the dash pad off I'll be a happy camper!

Tom
