Project " BARNSTORMER"

So excited to start a build thread, so here goes.
For a while now we have wanted a tow pig, doing some shopping and missing out on some decent stuff, so we thought maybe we could build something. So thinking on this I remembered my aunt and uncles 77' flat bed thats been stored out in their barn for nearly 15 years, and told my dad maybe we could get that cheap and make something of it. So he gets with them about it, they give it some thought and say you know what, you can have it for FREE. Now this deal has been made for a while now, but has taken until today to get the truck home. Now in between the deal making and getting the truck home, my dad came across a 72 Cheyenne Super, just the cab and chassis, and found his doner cab. I get to keep the chassis and suspension, for conversion or future project, score for me. Now for the project name I decided on Barnstormer, because it's not a barn find, but has lived a long life in the barn, and it looks like it has been through a bad storm  So now for some pics

Funny the direction projects end up going. My dad has been cutting and grinding away on this, planning on putting the 72' cab on the 77' chassis, but after stripping down the 77' to the bare chassis, he wasn't liking how it looked compared to the 72'. So the tape measures come out, and the brains start storming and he decided that since the 72' chassis looked much better, and since the cab would fit better on it's original frame, he's just gonna swap the suspension instead, and this works out twofold, he gets the tow rig he wants, and we get to practice swapping suspension before we swap out the 3/4 ton suspension on my 67' for the 1/2 ton suspension from the 72'. I do have a few pics but I currently cannot get them from my phone to my computer, but I'll get them upas soon as I can.

Minus the front and rear suspension (which was free), this has been a complete Craigslist build, and with buying whole trucks for different parts and selling what he doesn't need, I think right now he is only into it for a few hundred bucks.
