What do you think of this truck

It is nice but I don't think it is a $42,000 truck. Of course he just wants a good offer. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/3933388737.html

You darn sure couldn't build it for that if it is as nicely done as it looks, but pictures deceive so go look at it and make him an offer if your serious.

Go all out and build it the way YOU want it. When it's done, it's exactly what YOU like. Problem is, when selling it YOU are not the buyer. I'd pass at a quarter of what's invested ...but that's just ME. Nice job though...

Very nice truck looks like allot $$ was spent on it, I hope he can re-coupe his investment. I think he might fare better on ebay there is more people that buy things that don't have to ask how much it costs, most craiglister's are bargain hunters..Vernski:lol:

Re: What do you think of this truck

Nice truck but I don't see where he put $42,000+ into it, unless he paid for a lot of expensive labor by other shops to do a lot of the work.

My labor is free and I do 99% of the work on my truck. I could do a lot more with that kind of money.

The truck will only sell for what the market will bare, restored vehicles of any kind are only worth what someone will pay for them, regardless of the investment.

My opinion FWIW

Sweet truck! 42,000 is not a bad price especially with a 383 and dual carbs.
Bet that thing pulls like crazy! With how stock( meaning not lowered and wide tires in the rear ect) it looks on the outside you would never know it has a performance motor like that in it.

Re: What do you think of this truck

why build some crazy rig you can't afford to drive???
what is wrong with the stock configuration of these trucks???
not sure i get it. if you don't like a single aspect of these
trucks as they come from the factory then why do you even
want one??? i've never figured that out. i love my 66 just the
way it came from the factory and not some crazy a@@ rig that
has nothing to do with the original product.

I share your opinion. You can easily get to 42K if all of that work was done at shops with shop rates of $75 an hour and higher.

Re: What do you think of this truck

Maybe he had Rick's Restorations do it for him.

In that case he should be asking $100K.

Wonder if that Brantley kid ever found a sucker for his $45K truck?

I think he meant $24k.

That's my issue. I build stuff for me, selling it later isn't always the best since there is only 1 me out there.

That does look like a very nice truck.

Re: What do you think of this truck

It says he spent 10 years and $65,000 but it appraised at $42,200 so he's not gonna recoup his investment.

*Suspension* 4 inch CPP drop spindles in front and new lowered coil springs front and rear.

Ever heard of 4" drop spindles? Maybe 2.5" spindles with 1.5" lowered springs but that truck isn't lowered 4+" in front ...

I'm not knocking it though, it is a beautiful truck.

Re: What do you think of this truck

He should have Gas Monkey Garage sell it for him. They always seem to find buyers who are willing to pay too much.
